Daniel Oudenhoven was born on May 5,
1985 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Gary and Amy Oudenhoven. He
was baptized at Saint Jude's Parish in Green Bay but calls Saint
Bronislava's Parish in Plover his home parish.
Daniel attended elementary school at Saint Mary's in Peshtigo
followed by middle school at Ben Franklin Junior High in Steven's
Point, Wisconsin. Daniel then attended Steven's Point Area
Senior High (SPASH), graduating in 2003.
After graduating from SPASH, Daniel attended the University of
Wisconsin-Steven's point from 2003-2005 and the University of
Wisconsin-Madison from 2005-2007 earning a Bachelor of Science
degree in Philosophy. Daniel is currently a second year
pre-theologian at Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois.
Dan's ecclesiastical interests include ethic and apologetics whereas
his secular interests include watching Wisconsin sports (the
Brewers, Packers, and UW teams) as well as reading and playing golf.
Daniel's favorite books include Introduction to the Devout Life
by Saint Francis de Sales, Discernment of Spirits by Father
Timothy Gallagher, Priest's for the Third Millennium by
Archbishop Timothy Dolan, and the works of C.S. Lewis.
Daniel's favorite foods include pizza, pasta, and "anything with
chocolate." His favorite saints include St. Ignatius of Loyola
and St. Thomas Aquinas. When asked why he entered the
seminary, Daniel states, "I entered seminary because, through
discernment, I feel that God is calling me to be a priest."
When asked why people should pray for vocations, Daniel states, "We
need to pray that young people will be open to vocations so that
when God calls they can respond to such an amazing gift."
Finally, when asked why young men should consider the priesthood,
Daniel states, "Young men should consider the priesthood because
discerning God's will for your life is the only way to find true joy
and peace."

seminarian for the Diocese of La Crosse, who is in his second year of
theology at Mundelein Seminary.
