Father Keith Kitzhaber was born on August 28, 1974 in Marshfield, WI to Bernard and Patricia Kitzhaber and baptized at the Saint Joseph's Hospital Chapel in Marshfield. He calls his home parish St. Mary's in Greenwood.

Father Keith attended St. Mary's elementary school (Greenwood) and Greenwood High School, graduating in 1993. Father Keith attended the University of Wisconsin College-Marshfield from 1993-1996 and University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 1996-2001 receiving an Associate of Science degree (Marshfield) and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Plattville).

Father Keith attended the Pontifical College Josephinum for the pre-theologate, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree. Upon graduation from the Josephinum in 2008, he was awarded a Master of Divinity degree.
He was ordained a deacon on June 9, 2007 at Saint Mary Help of Christians in Greenwood, Wisconsin by Bishop Jerome Listecki and was ordained a priest on the memorial of St. Irenaeus, June 28, 2008, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph the Workman in La Crosse, Wisconsin by Bishop Jerome Listecki.

During the summer as a seminarian, Father Keith had spent time at Sacred Heart parish in Cashton (2003), Casa Hogar Juan Pablo II orphanage in Lurin, Peru (2004), Santa Cruz Mission in Boliva (2005), and the IPF program in Omaha, Nebraska (2006).
 

Keith Kitzhaber was ordained a deacon on June 9, 2007 at Saint Mary Help of Christians in Greenwood, Wisconsin by Bishop Jerome E. Listecki

Father Keith's ecclesiastical interests include scripture, liturgy, and apologetics. Keith's secular interests include videography, photography, and football.

When asked about his favorite authors, Father Keith states C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Timothy Dolan. When asked about his favorite music, Father Keith states he enjoys country, Latino, and Praise and Worship.
