Nathaniel Kuhn was born January 6, 1988 in Neillsville, Wisconsin to
Richard and Donna Kuhn. He was baptized at St. Mary's in
Neillsville and continues to call St. Mary's his home parish.
Nate attended Neillsville Elementary School, Neillsville Middle School,
and finally Neillsville High School graduating in 2006. After
graduation, Nate entered the seminary program for the Diocese of La
Crosse and is currently a junior collegian at Immaculate Heart of Mary
Seminary in Winona, MN.
Nate's ecclesiastical interests include liturgy and youth ministry while
his secular interests include fishing, hunting, hiking, and various
other sports. Nate's favorite book is Where the Red Fern Grows
(Wilson Rawls) while his favorite author is Pope John Paul II.
Nate enjoys choral music as well as Gregorian Chant and music by Josh
Groban.
When asked why he entered the seminary, Nate states that he wanted "to
discern if God wants me to serve Him and His people through the
priesthood." Nate believes that people should pray for vocations
because "vocations are the source of everyone's life, whether it be the
priesthood, religious [life], or [the] married life; we all need to pray
to know God's will." Finally, when asked why young men should
consider the priesthood, Nate states: "The call to the priesthood is a
gift from God that needs to be answered, despite the world and culture
around us."
